When it comes to choosing hotels on short stays, especially in Europe, I always look for the more affordable ones near train stations for convenience.
I know myself. I know i will over shop and would have to drag the maximum capacity filled luggage which my husband would always get upset about. Staying near main train stations is a must for less luggage dragging and temper flares.
So for our short stop in Antwerp, Belgium after weeks of research, I chose the Hampton by Hilton Antwerp Central Station.
They weren’t kidding when they named it after the central station because it’s located right beside the hotel. As in it takes less than 10 steps to get to the station from the hotel. It is also centrally located as some of Antwerp’s best sights are within walking distance, including the Grote Markt and the Antwerp Zoo.
The hotel’s staff were all very friendly and helped us check in as early as we could considering that the hotel was fully booked since that was (unbeknownst to me) also the weekend of a city marathon.
It’s a huge plus factor that our stay included breakfast where I could make my own belgian waffles! and there was a good range of choices for food.
Our room was spacious and bright. I like their use of the colors bright yellow and lime green all over the hotel, including the rooms.
A cute touch are photos of Antwerp’s best sites by the room numbers.
Our two night stay cost P14,496 which isn’t bad at all considering everything.
